My roomie is being bullied at work, and it’s pissing me off.

Doesn’t help that the Rat in question is a total moron. His MSN nicks are always like this:

‘‘Notes is working! ” – good for you? – , or
“Notes collapsed! ” – why the fuck are you still smiling? – , or
“Learning Indian English! ” – how about learning English first? – , or
“Burned my boiler today! ” – yay?!

Tell me, is there any easier way to appear like an idiot in front of both your big bosses and subordinates? (The team uses MSN for convenience to converse real-time because we’re scattered all across the globe.)

Everytime he yells for her, I feel like smacking him. But because I can’t, I had no alternative but to settle my scores with a little bit of mischief via MSN. I really wanted to let my big boss in Singapore know how inept his manager in China really is, because seriously this chap here can’t do shit and relies on his subordinates like a grossly incapacitated patient on crutches. Worse, he makes Sichyi churn out meaningless reports that serve no purpose other than to become part of his showy act in front of the above-mentioned big boss.

At 10am, I changed my nick to “There’s nothing more demoralizing than a leader who can’t clearly articulate why we’re doing what we’re doing! ”

After lunch, I changed it to “Delegating work works, provided the one delegating works, too! ”

After that I was swamped with a global account, so I had no time to be funny. Now that I’m back home, I can’t help but notice that the Rat’s nickname is now “Too many auditors! ” The ship he runs has too many leaky holes and auditors are questioning him every other day. Sichyi’s nickname is now “tapi mu hanya duduk…jerit…sebelah” which loosely translates to “you’re just sitting there at the side shouting loudly but saying nothing”.

Nothing like motivational quotes, Bahasa Melayu and strategically-placed smilies for an effective put-down.
